    Mumbai, July 28, 2006. Usha International Limited, a Siddharth Shriram Group company, has recorded a 75% increase in net profits for the quarter ending 30th June, 2006 over the same period last year. As per the company's unaudited financial results, net profits increased to Rs.2.84 crores this year from Rs.1.62 crores for the previous year. Gross profit has been recorded at Rs.5.02 crores this quarter compared to Rs. 3.38 crores during the same quarter last year, an increase of 49%. Total turnover for this quarter has gone up to Rs.158.8 crores from Rs.133.9 crores over the same period last year, an increase of 19%.
     
    The diverse products marketed by the company include fans, sewing machines, home appliances, engines and pumpsets, electrical motors & pumps, water coolers, air conditioners, generators, inverters and auto components.
