The company installs world's latest & India's 1st -Double Chamber Machine which produces staple free tea bags.
WaghBakri Tea Group, India's largest privately held packaged tea group has recently installed India's first & world's latest machine to produce non staple tea bag, IMA-INDUSTRIA AUTOMATICHE MACCHINE (IMA C27). The company has procured IMA C27 from Italy for producing world class double chamber Tea Bags. IMA has production capacity of 250 teabags per minute. This state-of-the-art technology ensures safety since the bags are meticulously tied by thread. IMA offers the option of individually wrapping the C27 filter bag in either heat sealed or crimped outer envelopes. The latter in turn results in a hygienic, tasteful and functional solution and the former in an airtight & waterproof outer envelope that guarantees the preservation of fresh tea.Shri Jay Narayan Vyas, Honorable minister for Health & Family Welfare was present at the inauguration function and complimented Waghbakri group for their foresightedness.

Desai, Managing Director of the group, at the inauguration said, C 27 tea bags will soon be available on store shelves across the country in all major metros as well as we will be targeting overseas market like U.K U.S.A, Dubai and other developed markets to launch these world class tea bags. We would be participating in Gulf food @ Dubai later this month & Foodex @ Japan next month with this new product. Although tea bags currently contribute less than 5% of Indian market share in developed economics. Internationally they have more than 70% market share. We, not only have been offering a different variety but also made sure that our customers get a refreshing flavour after every single sip and at the same time, the tea that cheers their mind, body and soul. After the success in Maharashtra, the group is launching in Goa later this month & Delhi & North in 2009-10."
Elaborating further on the future plans of the company, Shri Pankajbhai R. Desai, Vice Chairman of the WB group stated," It is about 'being from the future', seeing it and willing it to happen before it does. We are the first Indian company to invest in futuristic trend. We have done market survey on the taste and liking of the consumer and accordingly undertaken this investment of more than Rs 4 crores to suit the requirements of health conscious consumers all over the world. Our existing sales volume is more than 22 million kg's and annual turnover is more than INR 350 crores. We are planning to increase our production capacity by setting up a world class factory at Nadiad."
