MoU was signed between Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research and Grant MacEwan University on 12 May 2011, Thursday at Welingkar Institute.
Dr Uday Salunkhe, Director, Welingkar Education and Dr Paul Byrne, President and CEO of Grant MacEwan University signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. Esteemed representatives from MacEwan University present at the event included Ms. Elsie Elford, Dean, MacEwan School of Business, Dr. Makarand Gulawani, Lead professor Mr. Tom Carter, Co-Lead professor, Mr. Douglas Elford and Ms. Darlene Lowe, Accompanying professor.
The MoU opens new vistas of opportunities and collaboration between the two parties. It envisages enhanced study opportunities for visiting international students, exchange of faculty, staff and students. It also encompasses learning opportunities for teaching and administrative personnel along with the reciprocal assistance for the visiting faculty and staff.
The partnership will facilitate the joint projects taken by the two institutions in the field of business education. It will also promote advance learning and research activity along with increased international understanding as a part of post graduation education.
It is worth mentioning at this point that students from MacEwan were hosted by Welingkar Education for Interaction with Indian companies and an interactive lecture session. The experience which received a very positive feedback from the visiting students appreciated the entire experience. A visit to Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment wherein the students learnt about several Water Conservation projects in Mumbai was an interesting experience for them. The students was also attended a lecture on "Doing Business in India by Prof Dr Anil Naik. The team from MacEwan also enjoyed a short and relaxing Yoga session at "Nirvana" at the WeSchool campus.
