The Confederation of Indian Industry’s Young Indians (Yi) is a movement that seeks to integrate the “Voice of Young Indians”. It focuses on issues of national importance and motivates a generational change in the economic and social agenda of India.
Mr. Raghu Kailas, Chair – Chapter Growth Yi, National highlighted the key areas towards which the Yi Bangalore chapter will scale up awareness and advocacy. The Young Indians can contribute to the community and society at large by taking action towards a shared vision for India said Mr Kailas. He further added that, one of the key initiatives this year across chapters is the one million tree plantation. This year the organization proposes to take initiatives in the areas of Education, Employability, Healthcare, Environment and Arts/Crafts for the youth.
On the occasion Mr. Aroon Raman, Chairman, CII Karnataka delivered a special address on CII Karnataka and Yi – A Transformational Agenda. He exhorted the Young Indian members to take pride in being Indian and engage in building Brand India. Young Indians are competent and need to identify the key areas of work and come forward with path breaking and innovative ideas resulting in development of the nation. He emphasized that the success of Yi rests solely on the initiatives taken by its members and their ability to make it happen.
Mr. Raghu Kailas announced the new office bearers for the Yi Bangalore Chapter 2010 – 2011. Mr. Darshan Mutha, Executive Director, Aditya Edu Ventures Pvt Ltd as the Chair, Yi Bangalore Chapter and Mr Bharath Ram Lokkur, Senior Manager, PricewaterhouseCoopers was elected as the Co-chair, Yi Bangalore Chapter.
