Spurred by a promising start the Group reveals strategic plans for rapid growth.
Zuri Group Global, the multinational conglomerate having business interests spread across Asia, Africa and Europe, today celebrated its first anniversary under the new brand. The group also revealed that it has completed the process of bringing all its group companies under the Zuri brand. This move is in line with the group’s intention of pursuing an aggressive growth plan for the immediate future.
The past year witnessed the launch of the Group’s own chain of luxury resorts and hotels under the Zuri name. Going forward, the Zuri Group Global revealed a multi pronged expansion approach for its hotel chain – Zuri Hotels & Resorts. The company will focus on a management contract model alongside its current strategy of increasing the number of wholly owned properties. 6 acres of prime land adjacent to the new International Airport has already been procured to begin work on its next project, a Rs.200 crore, 150 room, 5 star luxury hotel in Bangalore at Devanahalli.
In only a year the company has done well even with the unfavourable economic conditions, setting itself apart with its refreshing business outlook and a penchant for growth. “Its been a great year with many milestones for the Zuri Group” said the spokesman for the group. The Zuri Group began its India operations in 1999 with their first hotel at Goa. Currently the group owns and operates six luxury hotel properties at various locations in India, Kenya and the UK. Though a great start, this is only the beginning.
The management contract model will allow the Zuri Hotels & Resorts to rapidly build a presence in more cities around the world. Under this model, existing properties will be operated under strict Zuri brand standards. “In a short span, Zuri has succeeded in establishing itself with a strong niche as a young and refreshing new brand of luxury hospitality. We know that there is a huge market for our brand of hospitality and we want to ensure this experience is made available to more people who would like the same” said Bobby Kamani, Managing Director, Zuri Group Global.
Also central to the group’s expansion plans is the announced foray into the green energy segment. The Group’s entry into this sector reflects its roadmap of expansion into newer and more globally relevant avenues. The Zuri Group Global will be launching Green Energy projects under The Zuri Green Energy name across the world, with a focus on India and Kenya. It has already made investments in windmill farms located in Tamil Nadu, South India and is keen on pursuing an aggressive path forward with an outlook towards renewable sources of energy like Geo-thermal and Energy From Waste.
