The private bus going from here to Biswanath Chariali lost control and skidded off the road at Bakola under Jamuguri police station, the sources said.
A passenger identified as Lohit Barua and the helper of the bus, Rahmat Ali, were killed.
Sixteen of the injured were admitted to the Jamuguri Government Hospital and four seriously injured to the Tezpur Civil Hospital, they added.
