Advocates in the state ceased work at the call of the Tripura Bar Association, an affiliate of BCI.

President of the Tripura Bar Association, Pijush Biswas said, the advocates ceased work for two days to oppose the Higher Educational Institutions Bill, 2010 as it was against the interest of lawyers.

He said, the bill which was drafted and sought to be introduced by the HRD ministry would harm the interests of the advocates and their elected statutory bodies.
