Thomas, Project Director of Agni V and described as 'Agniputri' by the media, would be conferred the degree on September 13 during the university's 25th convocation here in Nadia district.
Hailing from Alappuzha, Kerala, Tessy was the Associate Project Director of the Agni II project.
Besides, historian Ramchandra Guha and eminent actress of yesteryears Sabitri Chatterjee would be conferred with the D. Litt (honoris causa) degree, the sources said.
West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan, who is also the Chancellor of the University, will preside over the programme.
University Grants Commission's acting chairman Prof Ved Prakash will be the guest-in-chief, the sources said.
