"Banks in Uttarakhand can stop migration from hills and create job opportunities for youths," she said while addressing a meeting of the State-level Bankers Committee (SLBC) here.
While expressing concern over the low credit deposit ratio (CDR) in the state, particularly in Dehradun and Haridwar, she asked banks to provide guarantee-free loans to people and developing clusters for microfinancing.
On the occasion, chief secretary Alok Jain asked banks to increase distribution of kisan credit cards to farmers.
