A division bench comprising Justice Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia and Justice Toufiqe Uddin differed on the verdict over the bail prayer of Naser Khan, an accused in the alleged gangrape of an Anglo-Indian woman in February after she was picked up from in front of a pub at upmarket Park Street here.

The bench then referred the matter to Acting Chief Justice K J Sengupta.

The bench later recalled the matter and released it on personal grounds.

The woman was picked by some youths in a car from in front of a pub at Park Street on the night of February five and allegedly gangraped.

She reported the matter to the police on February nine, following which some youths were arrested and the car was impounded.
