An official adaptation of legendary Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh's film 'The Interview', the film also stars newcomer Anjum Nayar. Produced by Glorious Entertainment, the movie releases on September 28.

"It is the finest role I have played in a long time. The story was absolutely new to me. It is full of intrigue and suspense. From an interview it becomes an intrigue. It was actually like being part of a play. Only two people taking the story forward without any other props," Jackie told PTI.

The 55-year-old actor, who has been part of a number of Bollywood romances since bursting on the big screen with 1983 film 'Hero', says he is confident that the film will do well because audience is more receptive to interesting stories.

Jackie is also full of praise for the director.

"He is very well versed in Hindi cinema having assisted on 'Mangal Pandey'. He knows what Indian sentiments and emotions are and is well tuned to their demands. Working under him was great," the actor says.

Preparing for his role of a journalist was not difficult for Jackie as he has faced many in his three decade career.

"My father was a journalist. He used to write for Blitz tabloid. The character came easy to me because in my 30 years as an actor, I have faced many journalists. Actually it was nice to be on the other side and have someone else on the firing line. I loved my role." (MORE)
