"How many MPs do they have? Let them get the required number first then think of bringing a no-confidence motion against the UPA government," CPI(M) politburo member Biman Bose told reporters here.

Stating that the CPI(M) did not believe in announcing future moves, he said, "We have been agitating against the FDI issue and other anti-people policies of the Centre.

"The Left parties will continue the movement with the support of the people," he said.

BJP leader and former state unit president Tathagata Roy evaded a direct reply to the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's willingness to talk to his party on the no-confidence motion and said "I heard for the first time that she has also appealed to the Left parties."

Congress leader and union minister Deepa Dasmunshi said "it is now clear which is the 'B' team of CPI(M) and BJP."
