"The festival will pay tribute to the Beatles by celebrating its 50 years with their legendary songs being performed by the Kolkata Music Academy Chamber Orchestra led by Abraham Mazumdar," one of the organisers Pragya Lama said today.

The festival this year, which has drawn inspiration from the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, will hold an open rock contest, 'Battle of Bands' in which bands from Shillong, Sikkim, Kolkata and the hills will take part, Lama said.

The DTTF will also feature others events like sports, fashion shows, dance competitions, photo exhibitions and a body building competition.

The DTTF has already announced its plan to try for a Guiness Record by assembling 7,000 guitarists to play John Lennon's 'Imagine' on January 2, next year.
