Elephants kill two in Sundergarh

Police said a 55 year-old man was trampled by a tusker when he went into the forest to pluck kendu leaves in the morning.

Another person was also trampled to death in the same forest yesterday, SDPO, Sundergarh sadar Suresh Mishra said adding it is yet to be ascertained whether the same elephant was incolved in both incidents.

Elephants have killed seven persons during the past one year in the district, including the two men, he added.
