"The person, Vikas Pandey, has been brought safely from the MLA's house. We could say anything about the matter only after taking statements from both Pandey and the MLA," Senior Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar Singh told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on reports that the woman had complained to the police that the MLA had allegedly kidnapped her husband.
Pandey is now under the protection of the police, the SSP added.
Despite several attempts, the MLA concerned could not be contacted.
