Jha staged protests in front of Verma's house at Palsikar Colony here after performing puja at Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain along with a large number of BJP workers.
The state BJP president said Verma had levelled "false allegations" of land-grabbing against him in Sehore district which the district collector, too, had denied.
Jha also provided a copy of the certificate issued by the Sehore district administration in this regard.
He also produced copies of the documents establishing that Verma in his capacity as the then in-charge Minister of Sehore district in 2002, purchased 7.36 acre and 4.14 acre land in Sehore district.
Jha claimed that though Verma had apologised to him on the issue, he sought clarification in the newspaper, in which Verma had earlier given statements, which he said, "damaged" his image.
Meanwhile, Verma, along with the Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Singh and 21 other MLAs tried to stage a protest in front of Jha's official residence at Indore.
Police prevented them about 150 m before Jha's residence, saying they did not have permission for the protest.
Later, Verma told reporters that district officials have allowed him to reach there and nobody would stop him.
He said the land, about which, Jha has mentioned at Indore were purchased by him in a legal manner and he has declared about them in his declaration at the time of filing nomination papers.
The land in question does not belong to any SC/ST persons, he claimed. The Congress leader also clarified that he had not taken Jha's name in his statement.
Verma said he had only stated that Jha's family members and other BJP workers have got the land belonging to SC/ST category in their names without taking the collector's permission. He also clarified that he had not apologised to Jha as claimed by the latter.
