The Haryana State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with state's education department will establish the Clubs across the state.
These Clubs will make youths aware about their rights and help them become responsible citizens, said Justice Satish Kumar Mittal, Punjab and Haryana High Court judge and Executive Chairman of the Authority.
He said the Authority has already opened such Clubs in 1,544 schools and 171 colleges.
Steps are being taken to open such Legal Literacy Clubs in all private schools, colleges, technical, educational and medical institutions, he said, adding "lessons in law" will be introduced in all schools and colleges from next academic sessions.
Speaking after laying foundation stone of Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre at Kaithal today, justice Mittal also said that 812 advocates are on the panel of District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) and Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committees (SDLSCs) and there are 2,833 Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) (out of which approximate 20 per cent are women) in the Haryana.
He said that directions had been issued to DLSAs and SDLSCs to involve more women Para-Legal Volunteers for spreading legal awareness amongst women.
