A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice S K Mishra would resume hearing on the original PIL from next week.
While the original PIL had questioned the 'faulty' land acquisition process followed for the project, several other petitions have also been filed in the meantime questioning the environmental and forest clearance.
The high court in May this year had stayed all construction at the site and ordered maintaining of status quo on the Rs 6300 crore project on 900 acre in Kandarei village under Athgarh tehsil of the district.
The order had come while the court was adjudicating on a PIL filed by peasants staying in the vicinity of the plant site.
The high court has received at least 16 more petitions challenging the legitimacy of the project.
