The engine of the Sahebganj-Malda local train derailed at Malanchapalli, the sources said.
There was no casualty, they said.
The derailment blocked the up line towards Malda town though the down line towards Kolkata was open, the sources said.
Divisional Railway Manager Ravindra Verma and railway officials were at the site of the derailment.
