"Our film is not pro-Anna. It exposes the hypocrisy of a society. People who flock at Hazare's agitation in thousands, are those who on their way back, if caught by an RTO officer, have no qualms in paying bribe.

"Just pointing fingers at politicians is not right. The fault lies within ourselves, we need to look within us and fight corruption from inside," Gupta, who was also the writer for Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar" told PTI.

The director has cast well-known supporting actor Manmauji to play Hazare on big screen as he found his looks similar to the Gandhian.

Manmauji is popular for his comic roles in films like, "Aankhen", "Phir Hera Pheri", "Aunty No 1", "Dhule Raja" and others.

In the film, the character has been named, Prasanna Sathe.

"I think he fits the bill. In real life he is very polite, humble, gentle...Down to earth. Also in terms of looks he bears some resemblance to Hazare. But the name of his character is not Anna Hazare, as we did want to get into legal issues," Gupta said.

Actor Prashant Narayan of "Murder 2" fame essays the role of a cop in the film, who takes bribe and then becomes a changed man, but again the circumstances force him back into corruption.

The shooting for the film began in February this year and it is slated to release in September.
