The wild animal was captured in the trap laid by forest department officials yesterday, Garhwal Divisional Forest Officer Rajmani Pandey said.
The leopard has been sent to the Almora Forest Rescue Centre for further investigation about his habits, Pandey said.
The leopard had attacked the seven-year-old boy on Thursday while he was playing with his friends on the outskirts of the village and dragged him to the nearby forest, he said.
Later, the half-eaten body of the victim was recovered in the forest area yesterday, the officer added.
