The minister also said the question of car maker relocating its unit to anywhere outside Haryana does not arise at all. Rumours in this regard are baseless, he added.
He said the auto company would invest Rs 1,700 crore for setting up C-plant in its Manesar unit while the company is in the process of setting up Asia's biggest R&D and track and testing facility, Suzuki's motorcycle facility, entailing an investment of Rs 3,500 crore, in Industrial Model Township at Rohtak over 700 acres of land.
"At present, plant-A and plant-B are back in production and on August 22, 186 cars were produced. Maruti (Suzuki) is expected to restore its original production capacity within next fortnight or month," said Surjewala, in his reply to Calling Attention Motion given by BJP MLA Anil Vij in Haryana Vidhan Sabha here.
He also claimed that the lockout at Manesar plant was lifted because of the "sincere efforts" of Haryana government and said the management of the Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) expressed full confidence in the government
