Chakraborty wrote the letter to the Minister for Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms following heated arguments in his office with Mizo Zirlai Pawl leaders, after the student organisation urged him to relinquish his post.
The MZP leaders said that they objected to extension of service or re-employment of government officials after retirement as this obstructed young educated people from joining government services.
Police officials and Law department officials were present in Chakraborty's office at the time.
