'Mosquito Terminator' to kill insects along rail tracks

Aptly named as 'Mosquito Terminator', the train equipped with spraying machines, would cover all stations in the national capital region including New Delhi, Nizamuddin, Safdarjung, Gurgaon, Delhi Cantonment and Sarai Rohilla.

'Mosquito Terminator' was launched by the Divisional Railway Manager of Delhi Division AK Sachan along with senior MCD officials here.

"We have launched the train as a precautionary measure to minimise mosquito genetic environment alongside of railway tracks in Delhi area. The train will spray insecticides to kill larvae in water bodies near the tracks to prevent mosquito breeding," said a senior Northern Railway official.

Northern Railway has joined hands with Municipal Corporations of Delhi formulating a joint strategy to cover areas along the railway tracks in Delhi area.
