'No ventilators missing from government hospital'

The minister for Medical and Technical Education, R S Chib, convened a meeting with GMC's principal and members of the committee constituted to inquire into allegations regarding six missing ventilators.

"A report submitted by the committee was deliberated upon in detail and it was found that there was no discrepancy in the ventilators as alleged by some vested interests," an official spokesman said.

GMC's principal, Dr Aniece Choudhary, committee members-- Dr Tariq Azad, Dr Manoj Chalotra and Dr B B Kapoor, besides Personnel Officer of Associated Hospital, Jammu, Mansoor Aslam Choudhary, attended the meeting.

The minister was also informed by the Medical Superintendent that some people were allegedly fleecing patients by illegally using private ambulances and were spreading false messages in the media.

 

Chib directed the Principal and Medical Superintendent to identify such persons and restrict their entry and also asked for stringent action against those who would want to disturb the atmosphere in the hospital.
