One killed by elephant

was missing after an attack by an elephant in Tuirial river near the Mizoram-Assam border on Wednesday night, delayed police reports reaching here today said.

Four persons from Durtlang near Aizawl were attacked by the elephant when they were sailing in a bamboo raft on the night of October 31, the reports said.

Two of them Thapa and Chhetri reached Ratu village last evening, while the body of another Roluahpuia was found yesterday.

The fourth persn on the raft was missing, they said.

The elephant which was used for moving timber and bamboo went wild and was abandoned by its masters, the reports added.
