"This shows the increasing interest of farmers towards the amount of compensation," an official spokesman claimed here today.
Farmers of Gorakhpur, Baropal and Kajalheri villages are entitled to the compensation, he said.
Giving details of the amount of compensation distributed, he said 427 farmers of Gorakhpur village were given a compensation of over Rs 247 crore for about 805 acres.
121 farmers of Baropal have received compensation of over Rs 37 crore for 121 acres of land and a compensation of over Rs 77 lakh has been given to four farmer of village Kajalheri for 2.52 acres of their land.
