"Shortage of funds is holding back the development plans of the railways. As a result, the NCR was running trains beyond its capacity in the Agra and Allahabad divisions," general manager, NCR, Alok Johri told reporters here.
However, development work was supposed to be carried out at the Agra Fort and Idgah(Agra)stations, with platforms at both stations being extended and a coach department set up at Idgah, Johri said.
Anoop Srivastava, chief security commissioner of NCR, said that several steps were being taken to prevent sabotage by the terrorists and others.
"There would be stricter rules for entry to the commercial department so that information on movement of trains was not leaked out," Srivastava said.
