"The Centre has neglected Dalits by not enacting a constitutional (act) to grant the status to Dr Ambedkar memorial in Delhi similar to Rajghat," Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission chairman Indresh Gajbhiye told reporters here.
Rejecting the Narendra Jadhav Committee report which suggested against granting any constitutional status for the memorial, Gajbhiye said the government should acquire the land adjoining Ambedkar Smarak at Alipur on the lines of Rajghat--a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
Gajbhiye, who heads Dr Ambedkar Parinirvan Bhoomi Samman Programme, claimed that about one lakh dalits from across the country would participate in the rally and block Delhi-Chandigarh Highway to push their demand on December 6.
