"Water security problem can be tackled through community efforts and safe drinking water plants are real blessings to people providing them pure and safe drinking water," he said after inaugurating the Safe Drinking Water Plant by WaterNet, a Hyderabad-based social enterprise at Shamshabad here.
Swaminathan said that since the ground-water, rivers, wells and tanks are going dry, it has become imperative to capture rain water.
Recycling sewage water must be compulsory in all the industries, he said adding that water management was everybody's responsibility.
Speaking about the ongoing Biodiversity meet here, Swaminathan said, "Resolution without action has no meaning. Hope there will be action as well."
