"We have played well as a team. It's still early days as we have played just two games, there is lot of cricket left in this tournament. We still have 14 games to go, but it is good to have two wins under the belt. But in this format you have got to keep on doing well and hopefully, we can keep doing that," Ganguly told reporters at a pre-match press conference ahead of side's game against Kings XI Punjab at PCA stadium tomorrow.

Pune created an upset by beating formidable Mumbai Indians in their tournament-opener and defeated Adam Gilchrist-led Kings XI in their previous encounter at Pune.

Asked about Sri Lankan spinner Angelo Mathews' chances of playing tomorrow, Ganguly said, "He is available for selection. He was available for selection in the last game also. We will see how it goes."

With many foreign players at his disposal, Ganguly rued that sometimes too many option is a big problem.

"We want to pick up the best team in every game. Sometimes, too many option is a problem because you can only play four overseas players. Even if they are outstanding you can't pick beyond four because that is the rule of the tournament. Sometimes, it becomes a headache," he said.

He also expressed satisfaction with his own form, saying he had hit the ball well in the last game.

Asked how important is the role of a captain in T20 matches, the former Indian captain said, "In every format captain has a role." PTI SUN GS SSC
