Upcoming film 'Gangster Squad' producer Dan Lin has said that Warner Bros will be tackling its major DC comics adaptations before returning to the lesser-known title, reported Collider.

"Suicide Squad has a script from Justin Marks, but that is on a hold right now. I think Warner Brothers wants to finish their A-list stories first and then we'll talk about stories like Suicide Squad," Lin said.

Warner's next comic book movie will be the Zack Snyder-directed "Man of Steel", which will arrive in June 2013.

A 'Justice League' film is currently scheduled for release in 2015.

'Suicide Squad' centres around a government-sponsored group of super-powered convicts who take on dangerous missions in the hope of having their sentences reduced.

Lin is also working on "Sherlock Holmes 3", "Lego: Piece of Resistance" and the upcoming "Godzilla" remake.
