Super speciality hospital in city

"There will be collaboration with the Narayan Hridalaya super speciality hospital in Bangalore and state government and the MOU will be signed on June 11", Sarma told reporters.

The super speciality hospital will have 200 beds of which 100 beds will be run on government subsidised rates while the rest be on private hospital rates, he said.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi will be present on the occasion for the MOU and the hospital will be set up in North Guwahati at the Tolaram Bafna health complex, he said.

Asserting that the government will not tolerate any private practise by government doctors, the health minister said as many as 450 doctors were appointed to serve in the rural sector yesterday.

 

The minister said that following a cabinet decision last night, teachers who have BED, MED and BT degrees will only be qualified to be appointed as high school teachers.

"This is a step to improve education standards in the schools", the minister said.
