The release of the film, based on the comic book of the same name, has been preponed in India keeping in mind the weekend collections at the box-office, since July 3 is a Tuesday.
"The movie was earlier slated for July 3 release worldwide. But keeping in mind the high box-office collection on weekends, we decided to release in India on June 29," said a Sony Pictures spokesperson here at the unveiling of an exclusive eight minute footage of the film today.
The film stars Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man, alongwith Hollywood beauty Emma Stone and Indian actor Irrfan Khan.
It is the fourth reboot in the Spider-Man franchise produced by Columbia Pictures.
The film's second part, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", is on cards and will hit theatres in May, 2014.
