Stating that she was present in the House all through on the day, the legislator, Sashi Panja, in her privilege notice which she read out in the house, said that the description in the December 12 edition of the daily that CPIM MLA Deblina Hembram was physically carried to the Treasury Bench and indiscriminately kicked and punched was totally false and was done to tarnish the image of the House in the eyes of the people.

The TMC MLA said totally incorrect and baseless news was dished out which attracted breach of privilege.

She urged Speaker Biman Banerjee that procedures for privilege against the journalist of the newspaper and the editor be initiated and appropriate steps taken.

The Speaker admitted the notice and said that the matter was being sent to the privilege committee which would give a report by the end of the next session.
