Ultras shot claim police

have shot and injured two members of a breakaway Maoist organisation during an encounter in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district.

The two members of the Trititya Prastuti Committee were injured in an exchange of fire with the security forces in Palu village of the district, Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Anis Kumar Gupta told reporters here.

The two and a third escaped, he said.

The three ultras were in the village to extort some people, Gupta said.
