"The company is planning a 1000 MW second pump storage power plant at Purulia at an estimated cost of Rs 2500 crore," Power Secretary M K De said here today at a CII organised Energy Conclave.
WBSEDCL chairman and managing director Rajesh Pandey said the state utility was also planning a 380 MW hydel power plant in north Bengal.
"The total investment of these two projects and augmenting existing supply infrastructure would amount to investment of Rs 3700 crore," he said.
For the second Purulia pump storage project, a detailed project report was under preparation, De said.
