He was speaking at a function at the Chief Minister's camp office here on the occasion of signing of MoU between AP's Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, and the State Rural Livelihood Missions of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
A press release from the CMO said the Union Minister hailed this initiative which could ensure peace and development, particularly in J&K.
Ramesh also said issues such as trafficking of women and sanitation had to be dealt with in a big way.
SERP has entered into MoUs with the SRLMs for a three-year period under the NRLM partnership framework.
SERP will provide Community Resource Persons (CRP) support to Haryana and J&K.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said the SHG movement in AP had won world-wide acclaim, and promised full support to the partner states in building SHGs there.

SERP has been identified as a National Resource Organisation for providing support in social mobilisation and institution-building. It trains and provides Community Resource Person support to the identified states.
So far, SERP has entered into MoUs with Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
It will soon sign an MoU with Punjab.
State ministers K Jana Reddy, V Sunita Laxma Reddy, Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
