1.15 per cent applications under Right to Service Act pending

Punjab government today said that only 1.15 per cent applications received in the month of June under the state's Right to Service Act are pending.

Punjab Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal today reviewed the back end pendency of 206 services being delivered under Punjab Right to Service Act, an official spokesperson said.

He said the Chief Secretary was apprised that in June, 31,27,447 citizen service applications were received and out of these 30,90,583 citizen service applications were delivered within stipulated timelines as per the Act.

Only 1.15 per cent citizen service applications received in the month of June are pending, the spokesperson said.
 

The Punjab Right to Service Act-2011 was enacted with the sole objective of providing an effective frame work for time bound delivery of services being provided by various departments to promote transparency and accountability.

Apart from back end pendency data pertaining to all 22 districts, the data pertaining to Deemed Districts was also reviewed, the spokesperson said.
