1.2 million fake Viagra seized in China

The crackdown that started on Tuesday, is targeting fake foods and drugs in Guangzhou, the provincial capital, and has seen police break up 29 criminal dens and arrest 34 suspects, according to the city's public security bureau.

Among the seizures were 1.2 million counterfeit Viagra pills with an estimated market value of USD 18.8 million, 5,000 bottles of fake lubricant and 5.45 million other counterfeit pills, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

Police are still testing the ingredients of the seized drugs.

Police also seized six tonnes of industrial-use salts packaged as table salt during the campaign. Police said the salts contained excessive amounts of heavy metals.
