1,200 mining files disposed of in 900 min, charges Ajay Singh

Leader of the Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh today sent legal notices to the state's Mining Minister, Rajendra Shukla, and other officials for disposing of a large number of files related to mining, alleging it smacks of rampant corruption.

"A record 1,200 files related to mining were disposed of by the officials in just 900 minutes, which smacks of rampant corruption worth crore," the Leader of the Opposition charged in a statement.

He alleged this was done with an aim to collect huge amount of money for coming assembly polls.

The Leader of the Opposition has sent a legal notice to Shukla, Chief Secretary, R Parsuram and Mining Secretary, Ajat Shatru, on the issue, the statement said.
 

Efforts to contact the Mining Secretary on the issue proved futile.
