Noida and Greater Noida authorities, along with a police team, today cleared 1.5 lakh square metre land in river bed area along Hindon at Momnathal village of encroachments.
The drive was taken on directions from Noida and Greater Noida chairman Rama Raman.
Authority bulldozers demolished the unauthorised construction at Momnathal area along Hindon, officials said.
DSP Greater Noida Harinder Singh, DSP Bisrakh Rakesh Yadav, Tehsildar Noida Sangam Lal Yadav, Assistant project engineer SPS Yadav were present besides police and PAC personnel.
The residents said they had registry of plot but the authority claimed that the houses come under the river bed and the Supreme Court has given directions to remove unauthorised construction from river beds.
