: About 1.56 lakh new voters have been enrolled in the 10 Assembly Constituencies in the district, taking the total number of voters to 25,35,378.
Among the 1,56,771 new voters, women with 79,831 voters outnumbered men with 76,934 and others six.
As per the new electoral roll released by Collector Archana Patnaik, there are 12,70,084 male voters and 12,65,268 female voters and 26 others in the district.
Koundenpalayam topped the list of new enrollments with 26,012, followed by Coimbatore North 20,099, Kinathukadavu, 19,054, Thondamuthur 17,443, SInganallur 16,117, Sulur 13,509, Pollachi 11,989, Mettupalayam 11,741, Coimbatore South 10,915 and Valparai with 9,894.
During special camps organised from January to October 2013, 1,62,088 forms were received for new enrollments, 2,198 for deletion, 21,100 for correction and 7,626 for change of address.
Electoral Photo Identify Card for new voters would be given on Jan 25, which is observed as National Voters Day, an official release said.
