The response time of the Uttar Pradesh Police to distress calls is a quick "15 minutes" which is set to get reduced further when 1,600 more bikes will be inducted into the force's Dial 100 stables, officials claimed today.

"We are going to induct 1,600 bikes and integrate them with the dial 100 network by Mar 31. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag-off the first set of 100 bikes tomorrow from his residence here," Principal Secretary, Home, Arvind Kumar told reporters here.

Adityanath will also flag-off 95 four wheeler replacement vehicles for the civil police in different districts, he said.

"The inclusion of new bikes in the Dial 100 network will further reduce the response time of the police. At present the repsonse time is 15 minutes", the officer said.

Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh said that he was laying stress on reducing the police's response time.

"It has been reduced from 23 minutes to 15 minutes and will are working to further reduce it," he said.

He said the state government was also revamping Dial 100 by improving infrastructure and adding technological innovations.

On the inclusion of bikes in the dial 100 cavalcade, the DGP said that with two wheelers, the police can reach faster in some inaccessible areas.

"Basic policing with aggressive posture is what I'm implementing in the state to maintain law and order, instill a sense of security among people and put pressure on criminal elements and those running organised gangs," he said.
