A huge quantity of 'spurious' Indian Made Foreign Liquor was seized and seven persons arrested during a vehicle check near here today.
Attur Prohibition Enforcement Wing police seized 1,800 quarter bottles (180 ml) of spurious brandy from two SUVs and three two-wheelers, bring brought from Cuddalore to here, police said.
Kamaraj of Vembadi in Cuddalore District and six others were arrested under the Prohibition Act and produced before a magistrate court which remanded them to judicial custody.
Investigations were on to find out the source of the liquor.
