Hundreds of people of a movement
today courted arrest demanding that 12.66 acre of poromboke land allegedly encroached by a CSI Church here be retrieved.
Nearly 2,000 people, including 1,000 women, of Sri Mariamman temple Land Retrieval Movement were arrested by the police when they attempted to stage a 'sathyagraha' near the government hospital, police said.
They were later released, police said.
