1 dead, 3 injured in firing by rival gang

A 39-year-old man, alleged to be a notorious criminal, was shot dead while three of his friends were injured when they were attacked by the members of a rival gang during a party in north Delhi area, police said today.

Rajeev alias Bunty, who was named in at least three case of attempt to murder and was BC (Bad Character) of the area, had reached a friend's place in north Delhi's Subzi Mandi area last night for a party.

"As they were busy partying, men of another gang barged into the house and sprayed bullets on them. Rajeev and three others sustained gunshots in the incident. All of them were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared Rajeev dead while the other three are recuperating," said a police official.
 

Police said that the assailants have been identified and were being traced.

A case of murder and other relevant sections have been registered by the police.
