1 die while trying to board running train

Train services were disrupted for nearly an hour this morning through the tracks on platform number four following the death of the person and an agitation by daily passengers who alleged that the RPF personnel on duty did not help to rescue the man, Superintendent of Police S M H Meerza said.

At about 7.15 am, the unknown man in his 40s tried to board Howrah-bound Agnibina Express which was detained till 8.05 am on platform 4 for the man's death and subsequent agitation, he said.

Train services were normal on the other tracks in the station, Meerza said.

Two daily passengers were arrested for heckling the police and they were responsible for the agitation, he said.
