According to police, Malik, who was in Dehradun jail, was taken to Baghpat on December 15 to be produced before a local court in a criminal case when he escaped from police custody.
In the incident which had taken place near the court premises, Malik's accomplices freed him after throwing chilli powder on the police team escorting him while firing several rounds of bullets.
Police teams of several north Indian states have been searching for him since then and two people have already been arrested for facilitating his escape. Ravi is the third person to be nabbed in this connection.
As he escaped, Malik and his accomplices took away two AK-47 rifles along with an SLR from the policemen who were escorting him, police said.
