The Mizoram police has seized 1 kg of heroin and arrested two persons for possessing the contraband, a senior police officer said on Friday.
The accused were arrested from Tuikhurhlu village near Aizawl on Thursday, the police officer said.
The value of the seized contraband is estimated to be around Rs 40 lakh, he said, adding, both the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
They were produced before a special court on Friday which remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
